中國(guó)將向達(dá)爾富爾派遣數(shù)以百計(jì)工程人員(China to Send Hundreds of Engineers to Darfur)

中國(guó)證實(shí)將向蘇丹戰(zhàn)亂的達(dá)爾富爾地區(qū)派遣工程人員，作為聯(lián)合國(guó)計(jì)劃中的部署維和人員的一部份。

中國(guó)外交部發(fā)言人姜瑜星期二對(duì)記者表示，中國(guó)愿意為達(dá)爾富爾地區(qū)的和平與穩(wěn)定與國(guó)際社會(huì)共同努力。她沒(méi)有說(shuō)派出工程人員的數(shù)量或具體時(shí)間。美國(guó)國(guó)務(wù)院官員星期一說(shuō)，這個(gè)數(shù)字將會(huì)是數(shù)以百計(jì)。

美國(guó)國(guó)務(wù)院稱(chēng)中國(guó)的決定是一項(xiàng)積極發(fā)展。但是國(guó)務(wù)院發(fā)言人敦促北京運(yùn)用對(duì)蘇丹的影響，使蘇丹同意在達(dá)爾富爾地區(qū)全面部署聯(lián)合國(guó)和非洲聯(lián)盟的維和部隊(duì)。

蘇丹一直在抵抗國(guó)際社會(huì)要蘇丹接受計(jì)劃中由2萬(wàn)名警察、軍人以及其他人員組成的維和部隊(duì)的壓力。

China has confirmed it will send engineers to Sudan's troubled Darfur region as part of a planned U.N. deployment of peacekeepers.

A Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman, Jiang Yu, told reporters Tuesday that China is willing to work with the rest of the international community for peace and stability in Darfur. She did not say how many engineers would be sent or when they would be deployed. On Monday, a U.S. state department official said the number would be in the hundreds.

The State Department called China's decision a positive development. But a spokesman urged Beijing to use its influence with Sudan to make it accept the full deployment of a U.N.-African Union peacekeeping force in the region.

Sudan has resisted international pressure to accept the proposed force of 20-thousand police, troops, and personnel.
