1. have a soft spot for sb

soft spot指的是易受打動之點，有點“軟肋”的意味。

have a soft spot for sb常指莫名其妙地“十分喜愛（某人）”。

She'd always had a soft spot for her younger nephew.

她一直很喜歡她的小侄子。

2. ride a wave

△肯尼斯是個億萬富翁，在創(chuàng)業(yè)浪潮中賺了很多錢。

ride (on) a wave of sth是個很形象的短語，表示“乘…之勢；借…的東風(fēng)”

The new president is riding (on) a wave of popularity.

3. upstage

upstage是“搶…的風(fēng)頭”的意思，再補充兩個近義表達：

①steal sb's thunder
