今天看到了一個(gè)短語(yǔ)“steel yourself”，可不要以為是煉鋼的意思哦！

人家的意思是下決心做某事，就比如說(shuō)跳傘：

She steeled herself to jump out of the plane.
她心一橫，跳出了飛機(jī)。

1. be yourself 行為自然；不做作

7. lower yourself 降低身份

lower可以做動(dòng)詞，表示降低；減弱；跌落。

I wouldn't lower myself to respond to his insults if I were you.

8. above yourself 趾高氣揚(yáng)

高興得意的時(shí)候是不是有飄飄然的感覺(jué)。所以說(shuō)高過(guò)自己，也就是形容得意忘形自高自大。

9. behave yourself 行為規(guī)矩些

shut sth off主要有這兩個(gè)意思：

11. suit yourself 由自己作主，自便

suit作動(dòng)詞除了表示適合，適宜于，還翻譯為對(duì)…方便。所以說(shuō)suit yourself 就翻譯為自便咯。

"I don't think I'll come to the party tonight." "All right, suit yourself!"
“我想我今晚不會(huì)去參加聚會(huì)。”“好的，隨你的便吧！”

12. speak for yourself 那是你自己的看法，我不是那樣想的

這個(gè)短語(yǔ)通常用于表示不同意某人的觀點(diǎn)。

"We had a really boring trip." "Speak for yourself! I had a wonderful time!"
“我們的旅行可真沒(méi)勁。”“我可不這么想！我玩得很開(kāi)心！”

要注意，speak up for sb/sth的意思是“支持；為…辯護(hù)”，記得加上up哦！
