The 25-year-old Shanghai native Liu Yiwei has had an exhausting holiday during the past seven days. Rather than traveling or working overtime, she was busy hopping from one place to another bracing against "red bombs" with piles of cash.
過去的七天假期讓25歲的上海人劉依薇（音譯）感到精疲力竭。她不是去旅行也沒有加班，而是在各地之間奔忙，準備好一疊疊鈔票來應對“紅色炸彈”。
上文中的red bombs（紅色炸彈）指wedding invitation card（婚禮請柬），因請柬為紅色，收到請柬一般都要破費，所以俗稱“紅色炸彈”。被紅色炸彈“炸”到的人就要準備好給新婚夫婦的gift money（禮金），俗稱份子錢。如今隨著80后一代紛紛到了prime marriage age（適婚年齡），一到marriage season（結婚旺季）“紅色炸彈”多得讓人望而生畏。
原來舉辦婚禮的新人因為收到的禮金超過婚禮花銷，所以通常辦婚禮還能賺錢，但現(xiàn)在隨著物價的上漲，婚慶市場也全面漲價，請wedding announcer（婚禮主持人）和bridal makeup artist（新娘化妝師）都要花不少錢，辦wedding banquet（婚宴）花銷更是不小。
